Natural Highlights

This image was made at the northern edge of Derwent Water, late in the afternoon. Wonderful shafts of light beamed through and over the surrounding mountains from Catbells, highlighting the early golden colours near to the boat house on the Island. Using the Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR gave me enough 'reach' to highlight the boathouse and this fabulous light in a relatively tight composition. The light lasted moments but it was glorious while it lasted!
