Lake District

On Reflection

If you make the effort to rise for dawn you will have a very good chance of marvelling at the perfect reflections found on the Lakes, before the warmth of the sun has chance to stir the air and remove the reflection for another day.

Derwent Water in the early morning sun, with the blue of the sky reflected in the Lake. This was one of my later shots from this particular dawn vigil. Some 'photographers' arrived just as I was leaving!

I have used the half submerged rock in the shallow water to 'anchor' the image with foreground detail.

For this photograph I found my waterproof walking boots and trousers came in handy as I was standing in a few inches of water!

Landscape Photography seems so natural in places such as this. Sometimes I have to just stop and take in the view.
